Study Before You Go

Make the most of your time in this intensive seminar through having a familiarity with the principles involved. Neal Kinsey’s classic book, Hands-On Agronomy, is the best place to start. The companion video to the book presents the same information in a summary fashion as well as demonstrates proper soil sampling technique. Following are links to some of Neal Kinseys' works and lectures.

Hands-On Agronomy

An ecologically balanced soil system is essential for maintaining healthy crops. Hands-On Agronomy is a comprehensive manual on effective soil fertility management providing many on-farm examples to illustrate the various principles and how to use them. The function of micronutrients, earthworms, soil drainage, tilth, soil structure, and organic matter is explained in thorough detail. Kinsey demonstrates that working with the soil produces healthier crops with a higher yield. Softcover, 391 pages – #4120 – $35.00

This video details Neal Kinsey’s most important lessons. The Albrecht system of soils is covered, along with how to properly take soil samples and points to consider for interpreting the results. Obviously this short video cannot teach all the details found in a book like Hands on Agronomy or a multi-day seminar, however it does teach the major principles. Running length 80 minutes – #6442 – $30.00
