Advertising in Acres U.S.A.

Rates effective January 2012 issue

There are three ways to advertise in Acres U.S.A., each having particular benefits to offer against your communication needs and budget.

Display advertising — Available in 6 standard ad units in some 10 different sizes, there is a display ad to fit every product or service. These ads are always placed alongside the text of stories and are your highest impact way to advertise.

Eco-Resources advertisements — This special section features smaller ads clustered in a dedicated “shopper’s mall,” forming a directory of sorts. These ads serve to keep your product or service in constant availability. Being present in the Eco-Resources section of Acres U.S.A. means you will be easy to find when they’re ready to buy. These very affordable ads are essential — even if you’re a display advertiser.

Classifieds — Acres U.S.A. has many longtime, repeat Classified advertisers. Why? Because Acres U.S.A. Classifieds work and they’re a bargain. Whether to announce a one-time offer or seek to hook readers with a unique pitch, our Classified Ads might be right for you.

Display Advertising
Standard-sized ads

* Includes four-color printing.

Color
Four-color printing is available at an added charge of $150; advertiser must supply an acceptable electronic file with colors created in CMYK format. If supplied as artwork or film, additional output, proofing and stripping charges billed at our cost.

Non-standard ads
Ads that are not one of our standard sizes will be enlarged/reduced to fit the closest standard ad size (not “floated” in a too-wide column or sticking outside a too-narrow column).

Eco-Resources Section
All ads one column wide (2¼”), pre-paid, billed once for either 6 or 12 issues.

Classified Ads
Up to 20 words for $25.00; additional words $1.00 each. Prepaid only.

In addition to mailing in Classified Ads, they can be faxed to (512) 892-4448 (along with credit card number and expiration date) or emailed to kathy@acresusa.com. Classified ads must be received in writing with payment by deadline. No invoicing or verbal acceptance of ads.

General Instructions
Deadlines
Space reservation and materials-received deadline is the 20th of the month which preceeds the cover date by two months. (Example: The August issue reaches readers by August 1; space and materials deadline is June 20th.) Advertisers are responsible for submitting advertising material on or before deadline date. Sorry, printing, mailing and distribution requirements preclude granting extensions.

Acceptance of advertising
We reserve the right to accept or refuse any advertisement without cause. We must have on record in our office complete company name, contact name, physical address and phone number for all ads not bearing this information. We reserve the right to inspect all mail-order products prior to running advertising.

Art & production services
Don’t have ad artwork? Need a current ad modified? We have extensive in-house computerized art production capabilities including scanners and high-resolution output units. We can create an ad for you from your original photos, logos, thoughts or doodles. All production charges are quoted up front and are very reasonable.

Terms
First ad prepaid. Subsequent advertising to be prepaid unless credit approved in advance. Call or write for a credit application. If credit granted, net due upon receipt of invoice; past due at 30 days; strict. No advertising will be accepted for accounts with any past due balance.

Discounts
All advertising billed at published net rate card costs. No further agency discounts allowed.

Production specifications
Cover printed by sheetfed offset press on 70-lb. uncoated stock; interior printed by cold-set web offset press on 35-lb. premium newsprint.
Cover positions — 300 dpi, 2% minimum, 92% maximum, 300% total ink density.
Inside positions — 200 dpi, 2% minimum, 87% maximum, 240% total ink density.

Materials
Acres U.S.A. accepts the following electronic formats:
   • Press-quality PDF files (fonts must be embedded).
   • EPS/AI files with fonts converted to outlines.
   • TIF files with a resolution of 300 dpi or higher (600 dpi preferred).
   • InDesign files may be acceptable.
   • Except for full-page advertisements, all advertisements must have borders or a visible “edge.”
