3 Reasons You Need to Be at the Eco-Ag Conference Next Month

We can hardly believe it – just one month left until the 2022 Eco-Ag Conference & Trade Show! This year’s event is taking place Dec. 5-8 in Covington, Kentucky, right across the river from beautiful Cincinnati, Ohio. (Learn more at EcoAg.AcresUSA.com!)

With just a few weeks left, we wanted to remind everyone why the Eco-Ag Conference is the place to be for anyone looking to elevate their understanding of the complex systems and practices that lead to successful agronomic, ecological, economic outcomes! So here it is – the 3 most important reasons you need to be at this year’s Eco-Ag Conference:

#1 – Be Inspired by 3 Evening Keynote Sessions

While all we are proud of the content of all of our Eco-Ag Conference sessions, the keynotes at the end of each day are often favorites. They provide a big picture outlook, and inspirational cap to a day filled with learning, networking and connecting.

Keynote on Day 1: David Montgomery & Anne Biklé

David Montgomery and Anne Bikle

Scientists and authors David Montgomery and Anne Biklé have just come out with a new book – What Your Food Ate: How to Heal Our Land and Reclaim Our Health.

Their keynote on Tuesday, Dec. 6, will present a grand synthesis of science, history, and visits to farms, revealing the connections between soil health and human health. The pathway runs through the bodies of crops, animals, and microbiomes into our own, showing that agriculture can not only feed the world, but nourish it too.

You will walk away motivated and able to connect the dots between human health, soil health, animal health and crop health. As Montgomery says, “It’s a lot of dots to connect, but we’ve done the homework.”

Keynote on Day 2: Reginaldo Haslett-Marroquín

Reginaldo Haslett-Marroquín, founder of the Regen Alliance and author of In the Shadow of Green Man, leads the movement for developing innovative poultry-centered regenerative agriculture systems around the world. When he teaches, he is building the Salvatierra Farm in Minneapolis, which focuses on the development of multi-level strategies for building triple bottom-line regenerative food and agriculture systems. Reginaldo is a long-time instructor at Acres U.S.A. events and a valued expert in the field.

In his keynote on Wednesday, Dec. 7, Reginaldo will challenge conventions in how we approach farming, our communities and our own personal health. The talented author and farmer will help us redefine our business and personal goals through an understanding of what truly will create a regenerating world.

Keynote Panel on Day 3: Moving Ecological Agriculture Forward

Listen, engage, and learn as leaders in the transition to an ecological agriculture system explore the shifts that need to happen to make lasting impacts on your farm and across the agriculture sector.

This year’s Farmer Panel will be led by Vail Dixon and Jimmy Emmons.

Vail Dixon

Vail Dixon is a frequent fixture at the Eco-Ag Conference event. Vail is a regenerative farmer and holistic grazing mentor. Founder of Simple Soil Solutions, Grazing Power and Grow Your Soil, Vail grew up working on farms, climbing mountains and enjoying nature. While training to represent her country in the Olympics, a life threatening accident gave Vail an opportunity to experience healing through healthy food and natural methods – even when doctors told her it was impossible. Besides farming full time, she connects with open-minded and young-at-heart farmers who want to become successful adaptive managers and create abundance on their land.

Jimmy Emmons

Jimmy Emmons is an international leader in the soil health movement, and has served as the regional coordinator for USDA’s Farm Production and Conservation Program. He recently joined the Oklahoma Conservation Commission as its Soil Health Mentoring Coordinator.

Jimmy and his wife, Ginger, manage 2,000 cropland acres and 5,000 rangeland acres with regenerative agriculture techniques in Dewey County, Oklahoma. Their annual rainfall is, as Jimmy says, “20 inches – give or take 20.” They received Oklahoma’s first Leopold Conservation Award in 2017.

#2 – Meet 25+ Expert Farmers and Speakers

Learn from top-notch speakers about tactics that build soil biology, balance soil chemistry, improve soil structure, and integrate biodiversity like livestock, companion crops, and cover crops.
