Introducing Acres U.S.A.’s Newest Book

We’re excited to announce a new book from Acres U.S.A. publishing! Farming Without Losing Your Hat by Paul Dorrance is now available for pre-order at the Acres U.S.A. Bookstore.

Attendees to the 2021 Eco-Ag Conference & Trade Show this Dec. 6-9 will get the first glimpse of the book in person – as well as a chance to get their copies signed by the author himself! Books will be shipped to all pre-orders shortly after the conference.

Paul Dorrance is an author, speaker, consultant and regenerative agriculture advocate. His journey back to farming started in 2013 when he started Pastured Providence Farmstead — a successful pasture-based livestock operation. Paul writes for Acres U.S.A. and speaks at agricultural conferences and gatherings around the country.

Previously an active-duty Air Force officer, Paul still serves our nation as a pilot in the Air Force Reserves. He is the chairman of the American Farm Bureau’s Issue Advisory Committee on Organic and Direct Marketing and serves on the board of the Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association.

A Practical Guide to the Brutal Realities of the Best Job in the World

Farming Without Losing Your Hat isn’t like most agricultural how-to books. It isn’t particularly romantic or soul stirring. These pages do not include long digressions on soil health or animal behavior. Instead, this book just might be the most honest book about starting a farm ever published. The writing, simple but filled with detailed information, takes a practical-only approach, focusing on the less-glamorous but essential parts of farming and ranching successfully today. Author Paul Dorrance shares from his own real-world experiences and reminds us again and again — farming is not just a calling, it’s also a tough business.

Specifically, you will learn how to:

  • build a unique brand and company voice;
  • grow a loyal audience to sell to;
  • navigate the maze of regulations;
  • walk through liabilities and tax implications;
  • engage with customers on a real level;
  • apply for loans and financing;
  • and design a business plan from A-Z.

Don’t wait – pre-order Farming Without Losing Your Hat today!
