In-the-Field Learning

2023 On-Farm Intensive
August 15-16 | Lone Rock, WI | OnFarm.AcresUSA.com

Our on-the-farm events are designed to equip attendees with real, practical tools to grow better crops using the right chemical, biological and physical basis and then to take their land further and do more.

Instructors Gary Zimmer and Leilani Zimmer-Durand will demonstrate best practices for cover crops, soil testing, field preparation, equipment/tillage, weed & pest management, fertilizer programs, livestock integration and more.

When you register, you are not only signing up to experience a successful, biological farming system, you will increase your knowledge on soil health, no matter your experience level, as well as learn to:

  • Build a land-use system that maximizes your land’s potential
  • Find techniques for transitioning your farm away from toxic systems
  • Balance your soil correctly without toxic inputs
  • Build a biodiverse ecosystem that supports crop and soil health
  • Decrease negative weed and pest pressure naturally
  • Determine the best use of every square foot of your land
  • …. and much more!

A farmer or rancher with goals of decreasing the use of synthetic fertilizers or pesticides will benefit from attending. Learn from experts, meet peers moving the same direction, and take pictures and video to help document the educational experience. This is an investment in the future of your farm. You will leave Acres U.S.A. intensives with real tactics and measurables you can start applying in your operation.

Healthy Soil Summit, founded in 2019, is an essential learning and networking experience for farmers and ranchers, from conventional to organic. Attendees just starting their soil health program or advanced in their programs will leave with a better understanding of the key principles and techniques being used by the world’s top soil health managers. Our workshops and farm tours, led by real-world farmers and ranchers, will help increase your operation’s resilience to weather and climate, while decreasing the need for fertilizers and inputs, and creating a more desirable product to sell to today’s consumer.

Our Healthy Soil Summit Exhibitor Hall features only the top companies in the eco-agriculture space, ready and established to help you with any problems you face, from crop protection to soil testing to soil fertility, and more. Whether you manage orchards, cash crops, greenhouses or ranches, our exhibitors attend specifically to reach today’s soil health manager who is making tough decisions on fertilizers, cover crops, livestock care, lab testing, seed purchasing and tillage.

When you join us in December, you will get an experience to connect the dots between ecology and economics. This connection between economy and ecology extends into the roots of our organization, as we were founded by an economist, Charles Walters. This year, we will build upon that, featuring talented new speakers who are breaking into the eco-agriculture community, while hosting the stalwart voices who helped shape and mold the modern methods we apply today. From cover cropping to soil testing to fertilization tactics to livestock integration and beyond, we cover what you need to know to build strong soil health.

Now in its 47th year, the Eco-Ag Conference & Trade Show is the place to be for new and experienced farmers alike. Learn more about the event at EcoAg.AcresUSA.com or sign up here!
