Traveling to the farm

When traveling in by car or by plane, you will need to find a way to get all the way to Otter Creek Farm. And once you are here, there are unlimited ways to have fun and explore in the region.

Dane County Regional Airport

When you fly into Madison, you will be less than an hour from Otter Creek Organic Farm. Visit MSN Airport to learn more about car rental and transportation options. 

The next closest airport would be O’Hare International in Chicago.

Places to Stay

A number of hotels that are close to the farm are available in the region. Also, staying in Madison will put you close enough to drive into the event every day, but also in the center of a fun college town. You can camp at Tower Hill State Park, or about 10 miles away at Governor Dodge State Park.  You will need to reserve campsites in advance, and don’t forget about AirBnB and VRBO options too.

Driving Directions

Specific driving directions will be given to registrants well in advance of travel time. Whether you are flying or driving to the event, the farm is accessible and easy to find.

Parking

There will be parking available on site. You will need working transportation during the event to attend all the workshops over the two days.

Madison

About an hour from the event, Madison, a city of 263,000 and home of University of Wisconsin, is rich in activities and events all summer long. Visit Destination Madison to find out more.

Taliesin

Located right across the street from the Otter Creek Organic Farm, Taliesin is the home, studio, school, and 800-acre estate of Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959). Located in the Driftless Region of southwestern Wisconsin near Spring Green, Taliesin is the name of Wright’s 37,000 square foot home as well as the estate that includes buildings from nearly every decade of Wright’s career from the 1890s to the 1950s. In 1976, Taliesin is designated as a National Historic Landmark and part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

American Players Theater

A professional theater located just outside Spring Green, Wisconsin. Situated on 110 acres of hilly woods and meadows, APT has two theaters, the newly renovated 1089-seat outdoor amphitheater and the 201-seat indoor Touchstone Theatre. From June through November, APT produces nine plays in rotating repertory. With annual attendance of over 100,000 and an annual budget in excess of $6 million, APT ranks as the country’s second largest outdoor theater devoted to the classics.

House on the Rock

For over 60 years, the House on the Rock has been a majestic work in progress. It began in 1945, when a man named Alex Jordan had a towering goal: to build a man-made retreat as awe-inspiring as the view from the rock upon which the house would eventually be built. From that spark of imagination, the House on the Rock has evolved to include displays and collections of the exotic, the unusual and the amazing that can be viewed as three separate tours.

There are a number of high-quality restaurants in the region. Some may still have COVID restrictions. Please call in advance to see about reservations or other requirements.

State parks

Tower Hill and Governor Dodge State Park provide hiking trails, camping options and beautiful scenery.
