Modern Classic

This is the 2nd edition of the book formerly titled Weeds and Why They Grow. Acres U.S.A. has long shown that weed control lies in fertility management. Every weed grows in a somewhat narrow window of allowable soil conditions. For the first time, hundreds of weeds of commercial importance are detailed along with the chemical analysis of accompanying soils. For example, burdock grows in soils with very high levels of iron and sulfate, very low levels of calcium and manganese. Balance the soil, lose the weed.

love it

I love how this book helps me to understand the strengths and weaknesses of weeds. I was able to diagnose a friend's field issue from 1000 miles away based on his complaints of some weeds. When I told him what the weeds were saying, he acknowledged that he did have those specific problems. Now he also knows how to reduce his **** issues by changing the soil environment!

Very, very good. My whole attitude about weeds has changed!

Actually I think it's awful, sorry to report. It's just a stream of consciousness style essay with factual and totally wrong information all mixed up together. Wish I hadn't wasted the money on it.

Really good book!

I love the book but wish it was laid out a bit better and had more material to read but otherwise it’s been very informative.
